FYI. At the beginning of the series, it’s explained that Truham is mixing up the home forms so kids of all ages mingle together. It’s why Charlie and Nick meet each other because they are actually a year apart. So yes, there are younger kids in their form because it’s a mix of ages until they have actual classes where it’s seperated by ages
@@tova1412 I might be merging the books with the show but it’s relevant because we’re talking about these reactors being surprised by already known information.
Miss Singh’s sexuality was heavily hinted at, though not confirmed, in season 1 when she said to Charlie, “Plenty of gay people are good at sport, Charlie”. It is entirely possible that Charlie hasn’t shared that snippet with anyone else, even Nick. So perhaps everyone is correct!
I won't lie, that's kind of how being bisexual is, you are so happy and carefree because you don't really have to hide your interests and people are telling you how many options you have but then you meet the options and then you feel wrong because you supposedly have so many options lol
the constant message of the show telling nick that he can come out whenever and however he wants just makes me more emotional considering how kit connor was pressured to do his 🥲💔
The reason their "classmates" are children, at the start of season 1 it is established that there multiple years in each form. Nick is 16 so in year 11, Charlie is 15 so in year 10 and those young kids are most likely in year 7 (first year of high school) Also GSCE's are the last tests you do in high school and then after your last exam you no longer go to high school
Actually some schools have sixth form centres so some students do stay on at their secondary schools beyond Y11, and they’ll do their A-levels in sixth form. There are also sixth form colleges (I went to a sixth form college even though my secondary school had a sixth form just because I didn’t like my school) that students attend for two years to do their a-levels. The law is now that you have to stay in some form of education until the age of 18, so many do their a levels and then potentially can get work, go to Uni, take a gap year etc. Or if you don’t want to do a levels after your GCSEs you can do apprenticeships or similar instead.

In season one was the end of winter break so it started in January and continued through May. Season two picked up one day after season one, so this is still the same school year and it’s now June and the beginning of summer break.
It's June of the same year that was Season-1. (S-1 picked up after Winter Break, the beginning of February) In the UK, they don't have the long summer vacations that we do in the US, but rather have other breaks that are longer than the US equivalents, so more or less balance out to the same time off but better structured so as not to have the "lost summers" where kids notoriously loose some of their academic momentum. (Most breaks in the UK average about 2 weeks or so, but are more frequent than the US counterparts of Spring Break, et al, and they have more time in school during the summer months than the US does.) Slight Spoiler: the end of this season occurs on (for them) July 11th, a few days after getting back from their summer break trip to Paris, (and is implied to be a Saturday, which if the case would place them on a fictional version of our calendar as July 11th falling on a Saturday would place it either several years ago or three years from now... but that doesn't really matter, ultimately, as they're obviously using a floating timeline for narrative purposes).
